Design IT does not seem to recognise snow load. I have tried the temporary setting in the environment settings and the permanent one in preferences but the certificate still says " Snow Region: NO, snow region not applicable".

I am inputting Snow Region N5, Altitude 400m. It is showing in the environment settings.

Any ideas?

designIT caters for the effects of snow on roofed over members only, i.e bearers supporting upper storey load bearing walls, rafters etc.  When members are added to the Design Certificate that do not include a component of snow load (i.e. bearers supporting floor loads only, floor joists or member from the bearer and joist calculators where snow load is not considered), the snow load is referenced as Snow Region N0, not considered.  When a member with a roof load component is added the correct snow loading is added together with the note “2. Snow loads are applied to roofed over structures only, the design of exposed decks/floors is not covered” whilst members designed using the bearer and joist calculators have “Roof snow load not considered”.
